Include <string>

Is Dragon Fire compatible with:
#include <string>
using namespace std;

I am using this for some string manipulation and the text displayed on the iphone simulator is all garbled and of random output. bit odd..

I have quite a bit of experience in VBA and such, but im just learning C, so please be patient if my questions are a bit silly.

There's no problem using the include <cstring>, <string> and the <string.h>, however to use these libraries you should refer to a string as std:: string variable. I don't advise using the using namespace std convention.
