Higher Quality WAV2SND output?
« on: May 12, 2012, 06:48:31 am »
Hi All..
I'm building a music app ( chord progression maps etc ) and notice that the WAV2SND output is certainly much lower quality than my Piano WAV samples I'm using..

is there a way to use/generate higher quality .snd samples?

I also use an mp3 backing drum track, which plays fine at the same quality I recorded it at...

Thanks in advance!
Carlos.

What do you mean by "lower quality"?  Are you making sure to use WAV files that match the WAV2SND requirements (uncompressed 16 bit PCM; 44kHz or 22kHz; mono or stereo)?

Thanks Tim..

Yes, I am exporting my samples from SONAR X1 at 16-bit PCM , 44.1KHz, Stereo...   but after conversion from the WAV2SND, they are certainly a smaller size ( 1MB WAV file ends up as 64K SND file )  and seem to lose the Stereo aspect...

I am looking for tools that will show me what the .SND file attributes but haven't found one yet.... so I will keep looking..

If you'd like to e-mail me a sample WAV file that has this issue, I can take a look at it and maybe give you some pointers for getting a better result.

Please e-mail to tim@zimusoft.com.
