Stopping the iOS Developer Program
« on: July 11, 2012, 07:54:20 am »
Hi all,

After we decided we want to create a couple of apps before continuing our iOS developer program, I got the mail from Apple regarding renewing my iOS developer program.

I was wondering if the program would automatically stop when I don't renew the account by paying the obligated 79 euros. Does anyone have any experience with that?

When your Apple Developer account expires, it is not renewed automatically.  You *must* go through the payment process manually to renew it.  Once you pay, it can take a few hours for the renewal to become effective on your account.

So conveniently, when I do NOT pay, it will end? Because that's what I'm going for here, we're taking a 'break'. :)

That's right.  If you don't pay up, the developer program will expire until you decide to renew it.

Hmmm... I'm curious. Do your apps still remain in the store? If so, are you still able to manage them through connect (ie can you still log in) or does not continuing the program just mean no new content?

If you do not renew your membership, your apps will no longer be available on the app store. I know this because ours expired last month...
