Limitations of ImageSetImage.
« on: June 05, 2012, 06:43:51 am »
Hello.
I'm trying to build a simple web cam viewer, where my app would be uploading an image  from the internet every half sec or so.
but as I look into the ImageSetImage documentation it clearly states that the image must reside within the folder, so it must be bundled with the app, what happens if I want to load an external image from somewhere on the internet?

Is this possible??

Regards.
Ramiro.

The image does not need to be in the app bundle.  It can be in its Documents folder, so you can load images from there as well.

Ok, so I would have to get it from the internet to the documents folder, so the App could pick it there.
Is that possible???
Of course all this automatically with no need for user interaction so all the user sees is a slow refreshing image on his app.
I dont mind if the last image remains in the documents folder.

Thanks.

Of course you can grab the image from a web server using NetSend().  In the response of the NetSend() callback, simply save the bytes to Documents with the FileCreate() and FileWrite() functions...
