Thanks guys, looks like I don't have to worry about it in my app.

Thanks for the info on the Facebook, and your download number info. I just found out today from Zimusoft, PignOut has been downloaded 817 time so far! Way more then I thought since I only got 2 reviews. It's been out for a month. I wonder how many people would have paid a buck? I have a new one almost ready and will be releasing that one myself. I might have some questions for you in the future on setting up the Apple account and on how the iAds work. Good luck with your app and I hope the $$ keeps coming in for you.

Non-Game Programming / Preventing Memory Leaks

I have some questions about preventing memory leaks. Lets take for example the Box2D sample that comes with DragonfireSDK. Would you need to put anything into appexit() to clean up after this sample? Or is everything ok because the functions Createbounds() and Creatshapes() are called from appmain()? What about the variable pointers b2world *World, b2body *bodies[], b2body *bounds[]?
Thanks for any info / advise.

Just installed yout app. Very well done. I don't recall ever playing Mastermind , but this is very challenging even on easy mode. Just wondering what the difference is between the free and paid versions. Also when you submit another app to the iTunes store (like your free version) do you pay for each submission, or does your initial $100 account fee cover all submissions? Congrats on getting onto iTunes and if you don't mind sharing download numbers I'm sure some of us would be interrested in what kind of totals your getting. If not I understand.

Tim (support) told me all I had to do was ask support since only they can access Zimusofts itunes account. They will look at the numbers and tell you. I figured I would give it alittle time before I asked. This week will be 4 weeks since I released it so I'm going to ask tomorrow. I'll let you know how many downloads I had as soon as I hear from them. I'm not expecting alot since I never advertised.

Congrats on your game in iTunes. I downloaded it today. Very nice job on the program. I gave you your first review. Let me know how many downloads you get in a few weeks.

Don't have an apple account yet. I'm wondering if it's worth the $100 right now? I'm not sure how many people downloaded it yet because you need an apple account to connect to your iconnect. It's been 6 days and I only have 2 reviews if that's any indication of the d/l numbers? I can have Zimusoft give me the numbers by just asking but I'm gonna give it another week or 2 before I do that. Do you have an apple account? Have you published with either yet? I wish more people would share their d/l numbers I'll bet a few people here would be interested. Thanks again for your help, I added a screen shot to my original post in Announcements.

How Do I...? / How do I insert images into posts?

Here's a real newbie question.... How do I embed images into my posts here? I clicked the Insert Image icon then put in the url code which I got from ImageShack and I get no image in my post. Here is what I'm using "http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/.../pigsg.jpg/" inside the [img] code . Thanks for any help.

Won't know about any success for awhile. When you publish thru zimusoft you don't have access to their Apple account. They said they can look at download numbers for the last 90 days for me, I just have to ask them to do it. I'll ask them for numbers after a few weeks or so. Not sure I'll get much action because of the high number of apps available and I'm not paying anyone to advertise it or review it. I actually got a email from a company who said they would give me 100 ratings and 20 reviews in the app store for $125 dollars! And that was only for the free apps. For a paid app the reviews are $4 each! Kind of makes you wonder how fixed that whole review system is. Another popular review website wanted hundreds of dollars for a review with a video and they had a 6 month backlog. I'm still having fun doing this and that's all that matters right?

Game Programming / Re: Showing coutdown? using getms?
« on: January 23, 2013, 04:02:12 pm »
You could call TimerGetMsExpired and set it equal to a variable (say timex) the next time you call TimerGetExpired you would add that to variable (timex) so you keep incrementing the time. You cannot use printf in your code as this only works in the simulator not on the device. You would use TextAdd() first then TextSetText() when you want to update the time. Not sure what you mean by an alert box in you game but you could do whatever you wanted when (timex) is a certain value. I wrote a game that just ends after 60 seconds.
Hope this helps.

DragonFire said I could have them withdraw the app so I could reissue it as a paid app whenever I wanted. I just figured I would sort of test the waters to see if anyone was even interested in the game. If I see enough interest I'll register as an Apple Dev. and resubmit it with the upgrades. I store the high scores and names in a score.dat file in the Documents folder just like the Dragonfire examples for FileCreate in the api examples. I used around 2400 lines of code but I wasn't worried about the size so I'm sure I could cut that way down if I had to. I used alot of spaces and comments to make it easier to read. I'm sure I could have done it in less then half that.

Hey Guys,

Just got my app written with DragonFireSDK into the itunes store. It's free so check it out and give me a review if you have time. I published the first version thru Zimusoft just to see if I get any interest in it. The next version will be a 99 cent version with the more options (choice of foods, levels, GameCenter Support ect.). I'm just curious if anyone doesn't mind sharing, what kind of download numbers are you guys getting? Other developers here might also be interested. Here is the link https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pignout/id593674593?mt=8

I was looking to the same thing awhile back, having the app close when home button is pressed. The support guys told me that they could do that for me when I was ready for the app store build. Ask them about this.

Excellent job Nico. Installed your app a few days ago. Very challenging and addicting. I think I was the first one to give you a review in the iTunes store. Is the jungle sound and mp3 or wave (snd)? How many d/l's have you gotten so far?
